On Tuesday 20th February, there was a rare drop of Spring sunshine as the boy and girl cross country teams arrived at the Gryphon. The Playground Leaders have been running a Cross Country Club in the weeks leading up to half term, and everyone was looking forward to the race to see how well they would do.

The girls were the first to race and as it turned out they brilliantly all finished within the top 15, with Alice claiming the individual bronze medal. When the points were added to find out who would win the trophy for 2018 it was found that for 1st place they were the same and so Buckland Newton Primary School came joint first with Thornford, which of course made the girls very happy.

The boys also ran brilliantly and Bradley came 4th overall. The team also came joint fourth in the race as well!

As you can see from the photographs a lot of hard effort was given by all the runners, but they all admitted that they had enjoyed the experience!

Thanks are due to Mrs. Brooking from Thornford Primary School who organised the event, and to the Gryphon for providing the pace makers and the course martials.
