Victorian Day - 10th November

On the 10th November, the children from Willow Class were lucky enough to discover first hand what it might have been like to live in Victorian Times. This was because volunteers from Portland Museum visited our school, and brought with them a vast array of Victorian items from their museum collection. As you can see from the photographs below the children had the opportunity to play with Victorian toys, and also discover how people nearly 200 years ago would have washed their clothes.

One of the most popular activities was when they had the chance to bake their own rolls and make soup. Many of the children remarked how surprised they were, that the soup tasted so nice!

We would like to say a big THANKYOU to the museum volunteers who gave up their time and organised such a fascinating and enjoyable day.
