World Book Day - 2nd March

As you can see from the photographs below, both adults and children at Buckland Newton Primary School, enjoy reading books and dressing up!

When the children arrived at school they headed to their classes and explained who they were and why they had chosen to dress up as that character. They then went to the hall for a World Book Day assembly, where they found out who the adults had dressed up as. Mrs. Croft was dressed as Winnie the Witch, and we all enjoyed listening to the Room on the Broom story. Mrs Bond, who was dressed as a pirate, then told us about two of her favourite picture books: Mr Wuffles and Flotsam; both written by David Weisner.  Mrs Kellaway, dressed as the Grinch, easily won the best dressed adult award!

The children then went off back to their classroom, to carry out lots of different fun activities, that related to the World Book Day theme.
