Inter House Rugby Competition - 2nd March

If you had driven past the Buckland Newton Sports Field on the afternoon of the 2nd March, you might have had a shock as you would have seen several children disguised by face paint, playing rugby!

The reason for this is that the Playground Leaders had orgainised an inter house Rugby tournament on the afternoon of World Book Day. The Playground Leaders do a very good job of encouraging  children to be active at playtime, but they also are given the challenge to encourage children to be competitive as well. So they asked Mrs. Ralph if they could hold their first Level 1 competiton.

As you can see from the photographs below the children took the competition very seriously and worked hard to win the trophy for their team. As it turned out the Red Team won both the Year 2/3/4 trophy and the 5/6 one as well.

We are now hoping that Playground Leaders will organise more Level 1 competitions in other sports.

The Playground Leaders would like to say a very big THANKYOU to Mrs. Durston who kindly gave up her time to referee the Year 5/6 games.
