On the 13th October, a group of nine children headed to Sherborne Primary School to take part in the annual Year 6 Rugby Tournament.

The team got off to an excellent start, scoring six tries in the first game against Thornford. In the next game against Bradford Abbas the team found themselves conceding a couple of tries in the early part of the game. As a consequence their heads dropped, and eventually they lost the game 35 points to 15. In their third game, against Sherborne Abbey again the team found themselves losing by two tries to nil, but instead of giving up, they worked really hard as a team and pulled it back to a draw, only to have a try scored against them in the last minute. Which meant that Sherborne Abbey won by 30 points to 25. However, all the team agreed that it was a much more enjoyable game. Sherborne Abbey were the eventual runners up who were beaten by Bishops Caundle in an excellent final.

As a bonus the team got to meet up with two of our ex pupils, Marcus and Will who were part of the Gryphon team that helped run the line and keep the scores.

Thanks are due to Mr. Bartle, Mr. Siggins and Mr. Cuff who did a brilliant job of refereeing all the games.
