Home Learning

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing to give you an overview of the homework expectations for the year ahead.

We have looked at the DfE guidelines and worked with other schools to make sure we have a balanced offer for our children that is progressive as children move through the school.

We understand that sometimes homework can be a challenge for some children but we appreciate your support with aspects of home learning in our school.

The majority of our homework this year will be based on Doodle learning.  This is our online learning platform that we use at both home and school.  We used this last term and have had really positive feedback about using this.  The platform fully enhances AI technology to ensure each child gets a learning experience at home and school, that is catered for their individual needs.  Doodle can be used on any platform including computers, laptops, tablets and mobile phones.  Please let us know in school if you are having any difficulties accessing doodle or use their online parent help button.

Below is what we will be sending home in each class and year group:

Beech Class- Reception
Reading books will start after Christmas, inline with our phonics scheme. Other activities  may be sent this term including Doodle Maths.

Maple Class- Year 1 and 2
Daily Reading, Weekly spellings, One Doodle Maths activity

Oak Class- Year 3 and 4
Daily reading, times tables, one Doodle Maths or English activity

Willow Class Year 5 and 6
Daily reading, times tables, one Doodle Maths and one Doodle English activity.

If you would like more activities for your children to complete at home then children can continue with their Daily Doodling activities as they complete at school.
