Little Adventurers
Little Adventurers is part of Buckland Newton CE School, which is located in the heart of rural Dorset. The school is very much part of the community, and the school and Governors are proud to be able to offer children the opportunity to have a dedicated Pre school, on site in a secure, happy and friendly environment, which we have recently altered using the Hygge concept of a relaxing and calming environment for both the children and staff.
We are open 5 days a week, term time only from 8.45 am to 3.10 pm
We work very closely with the main school. Our children will be able to share activities with the reception children. As part of school life, we participate in all celebrations, from worship to all the festivals. Many of our children have older brothers, sisters and friends in the school so there is a real sense of community and belonging. There is a smooth transition from Pre School to Reception.
All our session are designed around the “Hygge approach”, where we use a wide range of natural resources to stimulate each child’s lust for learning. We have a lovely, enclosed secure outdoor play area we access directly from our classroom and can offer ‘free flow’ play in all weathers. Our outdoor play area offers opportunities for the children to explore specific areas designed to benefit their physical development. These include:
* a gravel pit
* story rocket
* mud kitchen
* bug house
* dinosaur and fairyland
* play house
* water wall
The opportunities for the children to learn and explore the world around them is an important part of their development in becoming the best they can be.
We can provide places for children aged from 2 to school age.
We offer 15 hours of universal funded childcare from the term after the child’s 3rd birthday, and 30 hours funded childcare for those who are eligible.
We are also able to offer funded places for 2year olds. Please check eligibility at www.DorsetforYou/30hours
Non funded hours are charged at £4.95 for 3 & 4 year olds, and £5.50 per hour. Invoices are produced half termly or monthly by request.
We also provide a breakfast club facility from 8.00am to 8.35am at a cost of £3.85 per child, payable monthly
